- A revolution
has been taking place in Garden Design which has been called the
"New American Landscape", a movement that is both an ideology as
well as a holistic application of design principles. This new concept
rejects the status quo, the idea that a garden is synonymous with high
maintenance involving large expanses of manicured lawns, clipped
hedges, and a rigid arrangement of plants. It also rejects the desire
to "dominate nature" but instead choosing to reflect the more contemporary
attitude of conserving the natural environment. It favors integrating
our homes and offices into the drama of our changing environment
while bringing nature more fully into our lives.
 At Landesign we
have embraced the notion of low maintenance planting schemes that
afford depth, richness, and a diverse pattern of color and texture
over the entire year. The end result is a lush combination of ornamental
grasses, perennials, evergreens and other species into a visual
mosaic of plant communities.
